National team athletes deliver standout performances in the high-altitude terrain of Zlatibor, Serbia.
The Republic of Moldova’s national orienteering team staged an impressive campaign at the South East European Orienteering Championship, hosted at the Zlatibor mountain resort in Serbia. Competing at an elevation of 1,200 meters above sea level, Moldovan athletes secured three silver medals across relay and individual disciplines.

Youth Women’s Relay: Anna Donici, Daria Gutsul, and Anna Krotova executed a strong race to take home silver.

Senior Men’s Relay: The trio of Ivan Ischuk, Ivan Fomichev, and Anatoly Fomichev matched the youth team’s success with a second-place finish.

Senior Men’s Middle Distance: Ivan Fomichev earned his second medal of the tournament, capturing silver in the individual middle-distance event.
Additionally, Alexander Golikov (Men’s Junior) and Olesea Checan (Women’s Senior) earned honorable 6th-place finishes in their respective middle-distance categories. The championship gathered 170 competitors representing eight nations, including Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia.
