A first career defeat is always a bitter pill to swallow, but it’s far from the end of the road. That’s the lesson 21-year-old British prospect Moses Itauma received directly from Oleksandr Usyk.
Following Itauma’s TKO loss to Croatia’s Filip Hrgović in their IBF heavyweight title clash, the former undisputed champion took to X to share some crucial words of encouragement:
“Moses, it’s not the end. Come back stronger, keep moving forward. Your journey has just begun.”
This marks Itauma’s first bump in the road since turning pro in January 2023, moving his record to 14-1 (12 KOs). A former U19 World Champion and three-time European Youth Champion, Itauma remains one of the brightest talents in the division—if he uses this setback as fuel.
