Unified light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol has opened up about his retirement timeline, stating he fully intends to hang up his gloves before turning 40. Speaking with Inside the Ring, Bivol welcomed the prospect of a trilogy bout against rival Artur Beterbiev in May 2027, noting that he prefers not to drag out his professional boxing career. Bivol emphasized that at this stage in their careers, reinventing their fighting styles is out of the question; instead, tactical sharpness and physical endurance will determine the winner. Manager Vadim Kornilov confirmed talks are underway for a spring 2027 showdown, following Beterbiev’s victory in October 2024 and Bivol’s decision win in their February 2025 rematch.
