Showing that the true martial arts spirit only grows stronger with time, the Vice-President of the Judo Federation of Moldova, Mukhtar Murtazaliev, secured a silver medal on the global stage. Competing in the -100 kg division, Murtazaliev put on a masterclass performance across four grueling matches. He fought his way to the gold medal match with victories over Germany’s Sven Müller, Austria’s Iulian Rusu, and Italy’s Alessandro Bengala, before falling just short in a hard-fought final against Russia’s Alexei Utenin. A monumental achievement that highlights both personal dedication and elite leadership in Moldovan judo!
