The Republic of Moldova national team achieved an unprecedented result at the European Para-Judo Championships, capturing four medals: one silver and three bronze.
Ina Cernei secured the silver medal in the J1 -70 kg category, marking her first-ever European medal.
Bronze medals were won by veteran Oleg Crețul (J1 -95 kg), Ion Basoc (J1 +95 kg), and Nicolai Bondarev (J2 -95 kg), who also claimed his first European career medal.
Other team members also delivered strong performances: Alina Condrea finished fourth in the J1 -60 kg category, and Oleg Nemțan placed fifth in the J1 -81 kg category.
Notably, Moldova was represented by its largest-ever delegation at the continental championship, featuring 10 athletes. With six athletes finishing in the top five, this milestone marks a new phase in the development of Moldovan para-judo and highlights the team’s overall progress.
