Brendan Allen secured a dramatic fifth-round submission victory over Christian Leroy Duncan in the main event of UFC Vegas 122. Despite Duncan’s aggressive start, a questionable early game plan focusing on fence clinch work allowed Allen to utilize his wrestling and secure takedowns. The bout saw high drama in the second round when referee Marc Goddard deducted a point from Duncan for a severe eye poke. Allen capitalized on the momentum, dominating the grappling exchanges before sinking in a fight-ending rear-naked choke in the final frame. With his fourth consecutive victory, the 30-year-old Allen successfully defended his top-5 ranking and issued a post-fight callout for a middleweight title shot or a matchup against former champion Dricus du Plessis.
