Moldovan judoka Mihail Latîșev has claimed the silver medal at the Grand Prix tournament in Lima, Peru.
Competing in the -90 kg weight category, Latîșev showcased his skill throughout the tournament. On his path to the final, he defeated Norway’s Cornelius Eilertsen, France’s Aleksa Mitrovic, and Brazil’s Guilherme Schimidt.
In the gold medal bout, the Moldovan athlete faced another Brazilian judoka, Rafael Macedo, a bronze medalist at the Paris Olympic Games in the mixed team event. Despite a hard-fought contest, Latîșev finished in second place, taking home the silver.
