At UFC 330 in Philadelphia, Islam Makhachev completed his first welterweight title defense against rising Irish contender Ian Garry.
Round 1: After a cautious start, Makhachev secured an early takedown, pinning Garry against the fence and controlling him while landing knees.
Round 2: Garry pressed forward, but Makhachev caught him with a head kick, sending the Irishman to the canvas. Makhachev rushed in for the finish, but Garry defended well off his back to survive.
