Moldova shines on the continental stage as boxer Alexandru Paraschiv brings home a well-deserved bronze medal from the European Senior Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Competing in the 65 kg weight division among 381 elite boxers from 42 nations, Alexandru showcased remarkable grit and skill, securing two decisive victories to power his way into the semifinals. Though his gold-medal quest was halted in a hard-fought semifinal battle against Ukraine’s Elvin Aliev, Alexandru secured a prestigious 3rd-place finish on the podium.
This championship holds historical significance: it marks the first-ever European Elite event held under the auspices of World Boxing, the IOC-recognized international body that the Moldovan Boxing Federation officially joined this year.
Congratulations, Alexandru, on this stellar achievement! Your bronze medal is a testament to hard work, resilience, and national pride. Onward to greater victories!
